No Matter How Hard We Try, We Still Can’t Deny, We’re A Pale Blue Dot

Good Morning, folks.

Okay, so I’ve been up once already, but like a bad transplant, it didn’t take, so I headed back to bed to investigate where the hind end of my rest had gotten too. In truth, I’m not sure I found it, because I still feel groggy and out of focus.

So I’m drinking coffee and playing one of my favourite albums from 2013 so far: Sound of Contact’s Dimensionaut. I was hoping I’d be able to afford to order a CD copy of it this month, but it looks like I’m gonna have to wait a little longer. Same goes for a few other albums I’m also madly in love with. To that end, I think I’m going to have to do some work today to create something I can sell, because really, it’s ridiculous that I haven’t been able to afford anything but food, shoes and medication for myself for almost a year.

So, one question becomes three: Do I work on one of my unfinished books?; Do I work on music for one of my upcoming albums?; Or do I work on one of the ten canvasses I have barely touched in the last four months?

Meanwhile, I still haven’t had any sales on last week’s digital painting/tee-shirt/iPad/iPhone design:
Out-of-Here-LinkWorlds set

Now, I’m not one to take lack of sales too personally, because frankly, I know most of the folks who usually support my art habit are in tight financial straits right now. It’s alright. I get it. But seriously, it’s had 273 views and not so much as a single ‘favourite’. I don’t even know if people have been sharing the link with folks who might be able to buy a copy.

Now, if it’s overpriced, I’ll understand the urge not to buy. I can’t judge these things too well, because frankly, I’ve only managed to sell a few tee-shirts and a handful of stickers and postcards so far. It’s not an ideal set-up, I’m sure. But the tee shirts are supposedly ethically sourced (not made in some Asian sweatshop for pennies), and the print quality isn’t too bad from what I’ve seen. I haven’t been able to personally inspect every product, so I could be wrong about that, but the RedBubble people seem to pride themselves on their merchandise, so until someone tells me otherwise, I’m working on the assumption that it isn’t going to be the same shoddy product you used to get from Café Press or what have you.

Gotta run to the drugstore for something to put on my wife’s itchy mosquito bites, which are threatening to become infected from her uncontrollable scratching.

Thank you for reading. More later, perhaps.

Lee.
